Water conditioner for pH and carbonate hardness raising. Specifically suited for water treatment in aquariums inhabited by fish from hard water biotopes such as cichlid fish from Lake Tanganyika and Malawi. Contains a saturated solution of potassium carbonate. 10 ml of Aqualkal raises carbonate hardness by 1 °d in 300 l of water (10 ml = 300 l×°d ). Especially useful to raise pH and carbonate hardness before using Aquaclar.

Dosing

Before adding Aqualkal to aquarium water dilute it at a rate of 1 : 100. Raise pH and carbonate hardness gradually and with care by adding the solution in portions. At the same time, measure pH and hardness of your aquarium water with pH and GH-KH Aquatests. Exercise special care when using this agent in aquariums with fish to prevent rapid changes in pH and carbonate hardness.
