Aquatest Fe is used to determine the concentration of iron in the range of 0-1,5 mg/l. Iron is a very important element for the proper growth of aquarium plants.
Simple measurement is carried out by adding one spoon of the reagent into a test tube and then shaking. After a set time, the result is read by matching the obtained colour with a corresponding colour scale.

Aquariums with plants require regular use of iron supplements. This element has considerable influence on the appearance and proper growth of plants in a fish tank. The desired iron level is 0,2 – 0,5 mg/l. Iron deficiency may lead to growth inhibition and yellowing of plant leaves. Excess iron can be both dangerous to fish and harmful to plants. It is not possible to absorb all iron compounds through plants. Aquarium plant fertilizers contain soluble iron complex compounds (Fe II). Added in the form of an agent, and the iron content decreases over time. The rate of this reaction is dependent on the type and quantity of plants, their requirements for this element and the chemical composition of aquarium water and substrate.

It is necessary to measure iron levels by the aid of Fe Aquatest at least once a week. To supplement aquarium water with iron, the use of Aquaflora Fe is recommended.
